All abstracts received by the submission deadline are reviewed by members of the review committee. The authors of abstracts, who describe a relevant paper, have received a notification of abstract acceptance and are invited to write a full paper. Successful papers are likely to be considered for publication in the conference proceedings. [b]Please note, all paper presenters will need to register for the conference and pay the registration fee. The writing guidelines for the full paper will be sent to you when your abstract has been accepted by the review committee.[/b] [b]Paper preparation instructions[/b] PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY [b]SUBMISSION GUIDELINES[/b] [list=The paper should be carefully edited and typed, so it can be reproduced in the proceedings;The text file must be forwarded in word format (named: .doc);Papers need to be submitted before 1 October 2005 and should be forwarded to abstracts@sportconference.nl;If your paper includes diagrams/figures or tables, please read the instructions under graphics carefully][/list] [b]FORMAT[/b] [b]Style[/b] [list=Papers should be in 11 pt Times New Roman font style;All text should be single-spaced. A double space may be used when beginning a new section or paragraph;Use as many as possible of your word processing software’s automatic features. Input your text continuously; in other words, only insert hard returns at ends of paragraphs or headings, subheadings, lists etc.;Do not use space bar to make indents (e.g., to indicate paragraphs or in lists). A tab or an indent command should be used for this purpose;Do not adjust line spacing;Disclaimers or notes should be placed just prior to references;Do not use footnotes][/list] [b]Organization[/b] [list=Use A4 size paper with 1,5 cm margin left and right;Use a 3 cm top margin on the first page of your paper followed by the title, authors, and affiliations;Use a 2 cm top margin on each page thereafter and a 3 cm bottom margin;Papers MUST be subdivided with headings into Context (abstract), Project/Partners, Methods, Results and Discussion/Implications, Acknowledgments an (or) References, Keywords; Begin your paper with a brief content or abstract (approximately 300 words). Your paper should conclude with acknowledgments and (or) references, and keywords; Use left justification, all capitals, and bold lettering for section headings;Papers should not exceed 12 pages in length. Authors WILL be asked to edit over length submissions;Do not number the pages as it will be done by the publisher][/list] [b]Graphics/photos/figures[/b] [list=Do not use colour in your graphics, photo’s and figures;Use only shades of grey, black and white;Avoid heavy solids or graphics with dark background (these do not print well);Incorporate tables and graphs in the body of the text;Figure captions should be left justified and placed at the bottom of the figure][/list] [b]Tables[/b] [list=When possible, use a table editor or tabs to create tables in your document;Do not use spaces to align the columns of your table;Do not use the “columns” feature to create tables;Identify each table with a bold numeric reference and center it at the top of your table][/list] [b]Presentation at the conference[/b] In every conference room at the Beurs-WTC Congress Center a PC with PowerPoint software (Office XP) and a beamer are available for the parallel sessions. Presentations are to be provided on CD-rom, 3.5" disk or USB memory stick. VERY IMPORTANT: label your CD or diskette with the operating system, word processing software, version number of the software, title of the paper, name and number of session. Filename should be the author’s last name. Please hand in your PowerPoint presentation at the conference simultaneously with your registration at the conference secretariat on Wednesday 9 November between 16.00 and 18.00 hours or Thursday 10 November between 8.00 and 9.00 hours. Check that your files are complete and that you have removed any files that do not pertain to your paper. This way our technical staff will have optimum opportunity to solve in advance any possible problem with file reading.
